Dr David H. S. Reid
Dr.
D. H .S. REID is a consultant paediatrician. He started his paediatric
training as a resident medical doctor at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh,
University of Pittsburgh, in 1957. He became a consultant paediatrician in
Britain in 1966. He is presently director of the Medical Institute of Research
into Child Cruelty (MIRIC). In this book on the Orkney child abuse
scandal ("Suffer the little children"), he shows how children and
adults can be led into making false confessions. He draws attention to the
enormous damage that the present system is creating and suggests ways in which
this could be avoided.
