Our Families: Through no fault of their own the families of offenders can suffer very great hardship. Most members of AFFECT  have experienced for themselves, having a close relative sent to prison. They are aware of the lack of  information and support available to families and have come together to provide a range of support services.

	AFFECT  offers moral support and practical guidance to people who have a member of their family accused of a serious crime.
	AFFECT  aims to provide a sensitive, non-judgemental, individually tailored service to support families from the time of arrest, through the trial and imprisonment.
	AFFECT  seeks to raise awareness within the wider community and public bodies of the plight of prisoners' families; The hidden victims of crime include the families' of the accused &/or convicted. AFFECT  does this by: Personal support Court support Prison visiting support Group gatherings Training of individuals and other bodies Dissemination of information; Leaflets, Literature, Videos, Website
